A Cloverdale volunteer was recently recognized for his commitment to scouting opportunities in Putnam County and Central Indiana.

Robert Fielden, who volunteers with Venturing Crew 93 in Cloverdale, received a Silver Beaver award during the Crossroads of America Council’s 35th annual Scouting Awards Dinner in Indianapolis last Wednesday.

A Silver Beaver is the highest volunteer recognition the Crossroads of America Council can bestow.

Recipients are registered volunteers who have demonstrated as having made an impact on youth through Boy Scout programs in central Indiana.

“Without dedicated volunteers, scouting and many other organizations could not have such a life-changing impact on their communities,” said Joe Wiltrout, who is the scout executive of the Crossroads of America Council. “I am honored to recognize these outstanding leaders who have given so much of their time and talent to the young people in their care and to local Boy Scouts of America.”

The Crossroads of America Council is the program provider for the Boy Scouts of America in Central Indiana. The Council supports scouting initiatives in 26 counties, including Putnam County.

Fielden was one of 12 volunteers from across the region to earn a Silver Beaver at this year’s dinner, which was held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
