As a beautiful September Saturday in Indiana makes just about any outdoor activity a good option, Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days is bustling with activity on the ground and in the air. A young man gazes out across the apron, ready for his Young Eagle ride. All told, 201 young people took free airplane rides over the course of two days courtesy of EAA Chapter 1374 and its annual Young Eagle Rally.

Meanwhile, Elvis keeps cool under the hood of Gary Daniels’ 1957 Plymouth Belvedere during the Smokin’ Rides and Rods car show. At least 30 cars and bikes made it out Saturday to the Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department, with proceeds going toward an upgrade to BVFD’s rescue truck.
