Difference Makers announced

Monday, September 16, 2019

On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Banner Graphic will honor 10 Putnam County residents whose greatness shows through in what they give.

This summer, we began asking for nominations of folks in the community who make a difference in someone else’s life.

From the nominations, we wound up with 10 finalists who truly exemplify the spirit of caring and giving for the sake of others.

From that list of 10, a Difference Maker of the Year will be announced at our banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 at Greencastle Christian Church.

The 10 finalists are:

• Levi App

• Lisa Baker

• Jackie Eitel

• JD Grove

• Sheila Holloway

• Mark McCoy

• Lynn Ramey

• Jerry Rud

• Martha Wharton

• Darrel Wiatt

The 10 finalists will be featured in a special section of the Banner Graphic to be published Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Our keynote speaker this year is Ruth Myers, winner of the inaugural Difference Maker of the Year award one year ago.

The Difference Maker program is presented in conjunction with community partners Crown Equipment Corp., Putnam County Community Foundation, Hendricks Power Cooperative, Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, Myers’ Market, Prime Real Estate Group and Cloverdale Drugs - Crossroads Pharmacy.

The Difference Maker of the Year will receive a prize package including gifts from the Banner Graphic and area businesses.

Each of the 10 finalists will receive prizes on the night of the event.

The banquet is free and open to the public, though seating is limited and reservations are required. The public may begin reserving spots on Friday, Sept. 20 at 8 a.m.

You may register by contacting Banner Graphic Marketing Manager Montica Patterson at mpatterson@bannergraphic.com or (317) 694-9913.

  • I would love to see why they were nominated. Very active in the community but do not know what each are involved in.
