Jessica Briones, a local resident and educator, will give an all-ages presentation on her experiences visiting the Auschwitz concentration camp today at the Putnam County Public Library.

She will present her program and photo exhibit “My Trip to Auschwitz with Eva Kor” at 6 p.m. at the library.

This summer, Briones had the opportunity to tour Auschwitz with Holocaust survivor Eva Mozes Kor, days before her passing on July 4. She will tell her story of not only her trip, but about the lessons she learned from both Auschwitz and Kor herself.

Briones was awarded the Hoosier Heartland State Bank Scholarship, which funded a single educator from each school corporation in Montgomery County to attend the annual trip to Auschwitz through the CANDLES Holocaust Museum & Education Center in Terre Haute.

Kor, along with her twin sister Miriam, were the only two in their family to survive the Holocaust. She founded the CANDLES Museum in 1995.
