ROACHDALE — The sixth-annual Rib & Blues Festival will once again make the small town of Roachdale come alive with swinging music and good food on Saturday, Sept. 28.

All the festivities will be centered at 5 E. Railroad St., where vendors will sell their wares and a stage will give way to almost non-stop music by popular area acts.

The Fret Set will kick off the musical entertainment at 2 p.m., with Tad Robinson following at 4 p.m. The Forest Gras Band will pick it back up at 6 p.m., followed by Jennie DeVoe beginning at 8 p.m.

The gates will open at noon, and there is no fee to enter the festival.

A beer garden and an antique tractor will be on tap, as well as the yearly barbecue competition which will be judged by local figures in the community. Roachdale’s Michael Meithe won last year’s competition.

Supporters of the festival include Tri-County Bank & Trust, Co-Alliance, Detro Trailers, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, the Putnam County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, Spear Corporation, Roachdale Hardware, Kara’s Country Cottage, Stage Up Productions, JF Awards, Muse Heating and Cooling, Gavilon Grain, Roachdale Building Supplies, Quality Shirts & More and the Storm Ag Center.

The Rib & Blues Festival is hosted by the Town of Roachdale in cooperation with the Roachdale Revitalization Cooperative Alliance, a non-profit organization committed to economic development, renewable energy, beautification, historic preservation and community activities.
