On Edge

Tuesday, September 24, 2019
A semi trailer in a rather precarious situation keeps responders busy Tuesday evening as they attempt to secure the trailer with its back end hanging over a steep embankment in western Putnam County. Indiana State Police released a few details Tuesday, with Sgt. Matt Ames of the Putnamville Indiana State Police Post saying a semi was off the roadway at the 33-mile marker on Interstate 70 westbound. At that time, Ames said the right lane would remain closed in the area for another four hours.

However, nearly six hours later, Ames reported the lane was still closed, with the restriction expected to last until after midnight Wednesday. Ames told the Banner Graphic the driver had no visible signs of injury but was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for a complaint of pain.
