City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police.

• At 12:44 p.m. Sunday, Tim Amburn, 52, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped on West Washington Street, Amburn was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Veterans Memorial Highway near Percy Julian Drive late Thursday morning.

• Sandra Halton, 69, Greencastle, and Rebecca Bolick, 32, Reelsville, were transported to Putnam County Hospital following the 11:59 a.m. accident.

Officer McDaniel reported that Bolick was eastbound, driving a 2005 Dodge Ram, while Halton was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, turning southbound at the light.

Bolick said she did not have time to stop to avoid a collision. The brakes on her Ram ultimately failed, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and end up on Ivy Tech property south of the intersection.

Halton’s vehicle ended up on People Pathways property after the collision, which caused an estimated $5,000-$10,000 damage.

McDaniel was assisted by Officers Nick Eastham and Darrel Bunten.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 6:24 a.m. on Saturday, Steffanie Campbell, 45, Coatesville, was stopped eastbound on County Road 350 North preparing to turn north onto U.S. 231 in a 1999 International straight truck. Michael Scott, 41, Newburgh, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2005 Dodge Ram.

Campbell told Deputy Tanner Brown she did not see any headlights northbound, but waited for a southbound vehicle to pass. Still not seeing any northbound headlights, she began to turn onto 231 and was struck by Scott’s truck.

Scott said the truck pulled out in front of him and he attempted to stop and steer right, but could not avoid hitting the other vehicle.

The hanging metal part of the straight truck caught his pickup and dragged it short distance.

Campbell was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Scott’s pickup was towed. Brown estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.
