Silver Linings Players plan upcoming performances

Tuesday, October 8, 2019

The Silver Linings Players, a senior script-in-hand theater group, has announced upcoming performances in October for Greencastle’s assisted living residents. Families and the public are always invited to attend.

Having already completed a performance at Mill Pond Health Campus and Autumn Glen Assisted Living this month, the plays will continue at Asbury Towers at 2 p.m. on Oct. 22 and Hickory Creek at Sunset at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

With a nod to the Halloween season, the players will offer an excerpt from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” featuring “Song of the Witches” and, as Veterans Day approaches, the “Band of Brothers” speech from “King Henry V.”

Rehearsals also continue on a trio of memory plays depecting families dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The memory plays have a touching realism laced with humor. Dates and locations for these plays will be announced soon.

All interested seniors are invited to attend a Silver Linings Players’ meeting on the first and third Mondays of the month, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Putnam County Museum to explore this engaging activity.
