Senior Education Ministries will present the last monthly installment of the Dine with a Doc program on Monday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m to noon at the Putnam County Hospital.

Dine with a Doc is a free community-based program that welcomes the local senior public to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch.

The speaker for this month’s presentation will be attorney Rick Brewster.

Brewster earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Indiana State University in 1980. After earning his CPA, he served as the CFO for a software development firm.

Brewster attended the Indiana University School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana bar in 2000. As a former staff attorney for Ernst & Young in Indianapolis, his concentration was in the area of human resource consulting. He became a full partner in Frisse & Brewster Law Offices in 2005.

Brewster concentrates in business, estate planning, VA eligibility planning and Medicaid eligibility planning law, using the “team” approach of education, counseling, creative decision-making and family conversation. This approach engages the client and includes professional, financial and legal advisers in the process.

Brewster is a member of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, ElderCounsel and WealthCounsel. The members of these organizations share a practicing commitment to uphold the dignity of both their profession and their clients.

Brewster conducts public and private seminars and workshops on estate planning and business matters, and is also a contributing columnist for the Terre Haute Journal of Business and the south-central Illinois edition of The Business Report.

Brewster is a past member of the board of directors of Christian Campus Ministries, a Christian outreach organization to the college campuses in Terre Haute. He is also a past member of the board of directors of the defunct Community Christian School. Brewster is currently an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University.

A brief question- and-answer period will follow Brewster’s presentation.

The complimentary lunch will be provided courtesy of Mill Pond Health Campus.

Various health care providers will be present to share information about their services and provide door prizes for participants to win. Hickory Creek at Sunset will also offer a wellness clinic, which will include blood pressure screening.

The Dine with a Doc program was designed for seniors to connect with their peers, to educate with the goal of improving quality of life and to provide resources and information to make informed health care choices.
