Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 2 p.m. on Friday, Denny R. Parker, 65, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 300 approaching a 90-degree turn in a 2005 Dodge Ram.

As Parker approached the turn, Anita C. Cundiff, 46, Greencastle, exited a private driveway in a 2017 Chevrolet Trax.

Cundiff failed to yield right-of-way at the county road. Parker could not stop to avoid the collision, striking the driver’s side of Cundiff’s vehicle.

Cundiff complained of shoulder pain, but said she was going to the hospital on her own.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 10:24 p.m. on Thursday, Jeffrey S. Dalton, 58, Brazil, was northbound on County Road 525 East north of U.S. 40 in a 2000 GMC Sonoma when he left a curve in the roadway.

Dalton told Deputy Jeffery Freeman he was traveling too fast for the corner, hit the brakes and began sliding off the road. The truck traveled about 20 feet down a ditch and into trees, causing airbags to deploy.

Dalton was checked out and released by EMS.

The vehicle was towed. Freeman estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
