ROACHDALE — A man remained at large Monday afternoon following a Sunday-morning incident in downtown Roachdale.

At 10:45 a.m., officers were called to the barber shop on East Washington Street regarding a domestic incident that had escalated into the resident of the apartment behind the barbershop barricading himself in with a shotgun.

The suspect, identified as Jerome Zeller, had departed without the weapon by the time officers arrived.

Police officers including Roachdale Town Marshal Adrian Lepine, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department deputies Scott Ducker and Kyle Lee and Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Ryan Winters spent the next three hours attempting to locate Zeller, but could not.

Lepine confirmed late Monday afternoon that he is still seeking Zeller and that he is working with the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office, pursuing charges against the man.

Anyone with information about Jerome Zeller’s whereabouts should call Putnam County Dispatch at 651-5115, ext. 0.
