Kelly Writers Series to feature Marcelo Hernandez Castillo

Poet Marcelo Hernandez Castillo will be featured in the next installment of the DePauw University Kelly Writers Series, set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Peeler Arts Center auditorium.

Castillo’s debut poetry collection “Cenzontle” won awards because its lyricism, imagery and emotion earned them.

The title, which in English means “mocking bird,” is fitting, as the poet sings stories that will move hearts and challenge minds.

He explores the life of an undocumented immigrant, before, during and after arriving in America.

The reading is free and open to the public.
