County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 10:08 a.m. Wesley Brian Garrison, 37, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7 p.m. Heidi A. Pacheco, 56, Alamosa, Colo., was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu when sh hit a deer.

The car was towed. Deputy Anthony Brown estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 10 recent dispatches:

• At 8:54 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 1021 Indianapolis Rd. for a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:58 and monitored the property with no results. It was found that a detector had faulty batteries. New batteries were installed, and GFD went back into service at 9:43 a.m.

• At 6:11 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident without injuries at the intersection of Bloomington Street and Veterans Memorial Highway. Units arrived on the scene at 6:18 and cleaned debris from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 6:28 p.m.

• At 6:57 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 418 Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:03 a.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 7:10 a.m.

• At 10:36 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Pi Beta Phi for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:32 and determined the alarm was due to a dirty detector head. The detector was cleaned, and GFD left at 10:40 a.m.

• At 3:48 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:50 but were unable to locate the detector which set off the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 4:10 p.m.

• At 11:26 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 415 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:27 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. GFD ventilated the building and then reset the alarm. GFD left at 11:43 p.m.

• At 4:11 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 413 S. Locust St. for a sprinkler activation. Firefighters arrived at 4:13 but could find no cause for the activation. It was advised to contact maintenance, and GFD went back into service at 5:41 a.m.

• At 3:59 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on State Road 240 near Warren Drive. Units arrived on the scene at 4:03 p.m. and found the victims were being treated. The vehicles were unplugged and debris was cleaned from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 4:11 p.m.

• At 4:11 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 611 E. Seminary St. for a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:18 but found that a battery needed to be replaced. GFD left at 4:29 p.m.

• At 5:19 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 1 Taylor Place for a smoke alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:23 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 5:32 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed three medical assists during this time.
