William Leon Arnold

William Leon Arnold, age 87, of Greencastle, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2019 in the St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel.

He was born on April 12, 1932 in Putnam County.

Leon had retired from IBM and had farmed all of his life in the Mt. Meridian, Fillmore and Coatesville areas. He was a dedicated member of the Putnam County camp of Gideons International and elder emeritus of the Fillmore Christian Church in Fillmore, where he served faithfully.

Leon enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Leon had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.

Preceding him in death are his parents; Herbert Lee Arnold and Ella Vanita (Terry) Arnold.

He married Beverly D. Huber on Dec. 11, 1950 and she survives. Leon has one brother, Virgil Arnold (Loretta) of Fillmore, and he survives.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six children; Greg Arnold (Sharla) of Fillmore, Carmen Cash (Tom) of Greencastle, Corliss Ames (Kerry) of Fillmore, Gordon Arnold (Kathy) of Fillmore, Charisse Schuler (David) of Fresno, Calif. and Celeste Perry (John) of Greencastle. Leon had 15 grandchildren; Andrew Arnold, Tyler Arnold, Eric Arnold, Ellen Cash, Emily Cash Brinkman, Neal Cash, Kyle Ames, Kole Ames, Hannah Ames Brooks, Shea Arnold, Mackenzie Schuler Trotman, Luke Schuler, Grant Schuler, Cierra Perry Wilson and Clair Perry. Leon had 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bousley Funeral Home in Coatesville. Services are at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Faust officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Cemetery.
