City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 7:11 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 418 Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:13 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 7:20 p.m.

• At 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 64 Brent Ln. for an odor scare. Firefighters arrived at 12:43 and were told by the homeowners that they smelled something burning. GFD investigated the property and could not find a cause for the smell. GFD went back into service at 1:26 a.m.

• At 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:27 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 12:33 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed nine medical assists and had three disregards.
