Food Pantry grateful for 2019 support

The Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry, board of directors and other volunteers thank the Putnam County community, churches, organizations, businesses, schools and DePauw University for their continuing support to the Emergency Food Pantry here in our county.

In 2019, the Emergency Food Pantry served 2,831 households in Putnam County. Food for three meals for three days is given for each person in a household when there is a need for assistance.

We have households consisting of one person and as many as 12 people. The number of meals came to 86,814 for the year.

There were 9,646 people served during the year.

The donations are our only source of income. Having read the previous numbers, it is understandable the gratitude we feel to every source of donations. Serving these numbers requires a lot of food and money to purchase food.

The pantry is located at 309 E. Franklin St. in Greencastle and can be reached by phone at 301-4431. Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays 9 a.m.-noon. The mailing address is P.O. Box 423, Greencastle, IN 46135.
