PCPL cancels programming through March due to virus

Friday, March 13, 2020

The Putnam County Public Library (PCPL) has canceled all programming and meeting room use through the end of March.

“It is with regret that I announce that PCPL has made the difficult decision to cancel all library programming and meeting room usage through the end of March,” Library Director Matt McClelland announced Friday. “At that time, we will reassess the situation.

“While these services are vital to our county, we also have a responsibility to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 through our communities,” McClelland added.

In addition, the Evergreen Indiana Consortium has extended due dates on library materials to April 28.

“We would ask that if you are sick, that you remain at home and do not return materials,” McClelland said.

Any overdue fines relating to COVID-19 caution will be waived.

“We regret any inconvenience that this may cause and look forward to resuming all programming and services when it is safe and prudent to do so, ” the library director said.
