PCPL to be closed effective Monday evening

Monday, March 16, 2020

The Putnam County Public Library will be closed due to developments concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Director Matt McClelland announced that the library would close at 8 p.m. Monday evening. He also provided that the closure would remain in effect until at least April 6.

“During these coming weeks, we will constantly be monitoring the situation for changes and updates from our community, state and federal resources,” McClelland wrote. “While it is never an easy decision to take away valuable resources from our community, we recognize the need to assist in stopping the spread of this virus.”

McClelland urged patrons to watch the library’s web page and Facebook page for further updates.

He added that PCPL’s digital resources will still be available, and that the info@pcpl21.org email would be monitored during the closure.

  • I fully understand he need for this action but it is so sad, my granddaughter loves her time at the Putnam Co. Library.
