County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 1:30 a.m. Britney D. Overton, 25, Rockville, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

City Police

One theft arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 6:42 p.m. Monday, Madonna Boswell, 32, Coatesville, was arrested at the Greencastle Walmart store by Office Zach Rhine.

Boswell was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on theft and criminal trespass charges.

She allegedly took an estimated $69 worth of merchandise, including dogfood, Mountain Dew, clothing, dog toys and four boxes of drink mixes.

Boswell reportedly pushed the cart right out of the store in stealing the merchandise.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven recent dispatches:

• At 12:52 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Lucy Rowland Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:55 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 1:01 p.m.

• At 7:07 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Delta Theta for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:09 and found that a sprinkler head had been broken off. The sprinkler system was shut down and GFD advised a fire watch until the sprinkler was repaired. GFD left at 7:38 p.m.

• At 5:56 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:59 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 6:10 a.m.

• At 3:43 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Ascena for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:48 to find that a fire pump was flowing. Maintenance soon arrived on the scene. The pump was shut off. GFD went back into service at 4:50 p.m.

• At 10:17 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:18 but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 10:27 p.m.

• At 3:23 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 240 and Indianapolis Road. Units arrived on the scene at 3:31 and cleaned up transmission fluid and debris from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 4:02 p.m.

• At 3:57 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to assist the Fillmore Community Volunteer Fire Department with a motor home fire at 10 Old Right of Way Rd. Units arrived on the scene at 4:15 and extinguished the fire, as well as performed salvage and overhaul. GFD went back into service at 6:03 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed 14 medical assists and had one disregard during this time.
