With the traditional ways of reaching people shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, ministers throughout Putnam County and around the country are learning on the fly of new ways to minister to their congregations and communities. Once such solution is being practiced Tuesday evening at Greencastle Christian Church, where children’s minister Hannah Newlin is handing a “Faith to Go” pack to congregation member Craig Armitage. The packages include a series of lesson for kids ages preschool to elementary, taking the place of what they would have been learning in Sunday school in the coming weeks. Other practices at Greencastle Christian have included small groups meeting via video chats and online broadcasts of Sunday sermons.
What are other churches in the area doing? The Banner Graphic staff is hoping to find out for a feature being put together for Saturday, March 28. Contact Assistant Editor Jared Jernagan at jjernagan@bannergraphic.com or 653-5151, extension 21 to share what your church is doing in these unique times.
