City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

At 1:07 p.m. Thursday, Eric Adkins, 30, Brazil, was arrested by Officer Nick Eastham.

Adkins, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, is facing a charge of residential entry.

Adkins was arrested after reportedly entering a home in the 300 block of South Jackson Street, police said.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 3:03 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to investigate an illegal burn. Units arrived at 3:10 to find an individual burning sticks. It was determined that the person was following the city burn ordinance, and went back into service at 3:22 p.m.

• At 6:22 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 708 Illinois St. to investigate an illegal burn. Units arrived at 6:26 to find the homeowner was burning sticks and cardboard. It was determined that the person was not following the city burn ordinance, and the fire was extinguished. GFD went back into service at 6:35 p.m.

Additionally, GFD had two disregards following these dispatches.
