County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 10:16 p.m. Kimberly S. Hanks, 40, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 5:31 p.m. Isaiah E. Craig, 21, Terre Haute, was booked in for battery.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage crashes.

• At 6:05 p.m. on Monday, Kimberly S. Hanks, 40, Cloverdale, was southbound in the 3700 block of County Road 525 East in a 2017 Chevrolet Spark when she turned too sharply in a curve, left the road and hit a tree.

Deputy Randy Patrick reported that Hanks was preliminarily suspected of driving while intoxicated.

She was taken to Putnam County Hospital for suspected minor injuries. She was later taken to the Putnam County Jail and booked in at 10:16 p.m. for driving while intoxicated.

The vehicle was towed. Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5000.

• At 6:49 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, Ronald J. Brooks, 59, Fillmore, was on the scene of a fire in the 2400 block of County Road 500 East in a 2018 Peterbilt 367 fire tanker registered to the Floyd Township Fire Department.

As Brooks was maneuvering the scene, he backed the truck into a 1991 Ford F800 Series fire engine registered to the Fillmore Community Volunteer Fire Department.

The Floyd tanker was backing into the sunlight with a spotter and Brooks could not see or stop before making contact with the Fillmore truck.

Both vehicles were operable at the scene.

Deputy Patrick estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently performed two medical assists.
