Citing the decision as the toughest he's ever made, Cloverdale graduate Jalen Moore announced on Friday evening that he will be continuing his college basketball career at Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Mich.

"This has by far been hardest decision of my life. Thank you to everyone involved in my recruitment and for believing in me! My hard work is meeting opportunity and I’m gonna take full advantage of it! With that being said I will be committing to Oakland University."

Oakland is a Division I school which competes in the Horizon League along with Wright State, Northern Kentucky, Green Bay, Youngstown State, IUPUI, Illinois-Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy.

This season, the Golden Grizzlies had a 14-19 record with an 8-10 mark in Horizon League action which put them in sixth place.

Oakland defeated No. 7 seed Cleveland State in the first round of the Horizon League tournament before being eliminated by No. 3 seed Green Bay.

Oakland participated in the Sunshine Slam at Kissimmee, Fla., winning two of three games there.

An ambitious non-conference schedule saw the Golden Grizzlies play at No. 7 Maryland and Syracuse, plus a neutral site game against No. 16 Michigan State.

The team's 2020-21 schedule has not yet been released.

Oakland has hit a 3-point field goal in its last 1,003 games - dating back to 1988.

Of the 34 college basketball teams in Michigan, Oakland ranked third last year in average attendance - trailing only Michigan State and Michigan.

The Golden Grizzlies play in the 4,000-seat Athletics Center O’rena, averaging 3,203 fans per game for their 13 home games.

Moore will be able to sign his national letter of intent on Wednesday, the first day of the spring signing period.
