Hailey Marie Whitis

Hailey Marie Whitis, 18, of Greencastle, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020.

She was born on June 17, 2002 in Danville to Kevin W. Whitis and Heather L. (Morgan) Morris.

She was a 2020 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Hailey worked at Subway and Wasser Brewing Co. in Greencastle.

She was beginning to pursue her passion in the medical field where she planned on becoming a nurse practitioner.

She enjoyed dance, vacationing in Florida, musicals, reading and working with children. She also loved spending time with her very close sister, Harley, and being with her friends. She will be greatly missed by so many.

She was a member of the National Honor Society.

She is survived and cherished by her parents, Kevin (Karen Crosley) Whitis, Greencastle, and Heather (Scott) Morris, Bloomington; siblings Harley Whitis, Greencastle, and Riley and Zachary Morris, Bloomington; grandparents Richard (Carol) Morgan, Greencastle, Jeanne (John) Philpott, Tampa, Fla., Mary Swegman, Avon, James Whitis, Summerset, Ky., and Marjorie (David) Weddle, Mooresville, four aunts, Tina, Stevie, Susan and Sarah, four uncles, John, Ryan, Will, Darnel and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Franklin and Wavy Morgan, Sara and James Montgomery, Ulena Mouce and Hairm Whitis, and great aunt Marilyn Blades.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 26 at New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St., Greencastle, with Pastor Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 25 from 2-8 p.m. at the church. Limited numbers in attendance may be regulated and social distancing are expected to be followed. Masks are encouraged.
