Norma Jean Settle

Norma Jean Settle, 93, Cloverdale, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Norma was born on Sept. 1, 1926 in Owen County to William and Bernice (Jobe) Walbring.

She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1944.

Norma worked for the Indiana State Police and Premier Angus.

Norma enjoyed game shows, especially “Jeopardy” and “Family Feud” and working crossword puzzles

She enjoyed watching football and college basketball games. During her son’s high school years, she, along with several other mothers, spent the majority of time in the bleachers.

Norma loved animals and through the years she had several dogs and cats.

She also loved to mow and work outside but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sister Isla Crick, niece Diane Query, nephew William Allen Crick, and great-niece Sarah Geswein.

Norma is survived by her son, Jeff (Sherry) Settle; grandchildren Kevin Settle and Kourtney (fiancé Tyler) Settle; a niece, Susie Crick; great-niece Jana (Bruce) Grimes and great-nephews Jim Markus and Jobe (Debbie) Crick.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 25 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service time of 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Poland Chapel Cemetery.
