ISP Emergency Response Team assists with Vigo warrant service in Greencastle

Thursday, July 2, 2020

Multiple emergency agencies converged on a north side neighborhood Wednesday afternoon as the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department attempted to serve a search warrant.

According to WTWO, Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said the vehicle belonging to the suspect in a recent Vigo County burglary was located in Greencastle.

Witnesses said they saw two men enter the residence with guns.

Based on this information, the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team was called to the scene.

The ERT was able to make entrance, at which time the sheriff said one person was taken into custody. There were no injuries in the operation.

The suspect has not been identified.

However, property from the burglary, as well as the weapon, were found at the residence.

At one point during the afternoon, at least five different emergency agencies converged on the area of Houck Road and North Arlington Street/Albin Pond, including the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Greencastle Police Department, Greencastle Fire Department and Putnam County Operation Life.

  • Without more information, this is a non-story. Do you print a headline for every time a warrant is served in Putnam County?

  • Considering the banner found it important to put it in the banner. Why wouldn’t you keep the people updated as to what’s going on.

  • Something strange going on here in Greencastle with the lack of updates. Why was Albin Pond blocked by Police , why an assault vehicle at the apartments? How about the lack of updates on the Kentwood shooting? We hear rumors but would rather hear facts.

  • Banner do you have no info on the horrific wreck in Cloverdale close to the same time frame?

  • I was there. Right across the street. The maintenance man also took video. I live in those apartments.

  • Greencastle needs a good conspiracy before the summer is over. Get with it, Banner Graphic! This is your chance! You have us all holding our breath. If you can't tell us who shot who, can you at least tell us where they think the UFO landed?

  • Military vehicles in Putnam County. Oh wait. That does not fit the political agenda of the elected. Disregard folks. Nothing to see here. Criminals are coming to Putnam County because no one is looking into them. Look over here a protest.

  • One of the main problems in Greencastle is all the subsidized housing. Castlebury and Northview should be bulldozed down. These places are full of welfare bums who are too lazy to work, but they don't mind stealing or using or selling drugs. They both are rampant with domestic violence and child neglect. "concernedcitized3", how can you stop these people from moving to Greencastle? You can't deny housing to people. If you think no one is looking into them, just read the Scanner. It is full of arrests made every day. If you think you can make a difference, well then volunteer your time to help out.

  • It happened right by me and we was evacuated from our home. This was person did not even live at the residence. It is uncalled for when people make rude comments about these apartments when they do not know the full story.
