Preventing Homelessness

Tuesday, August 11, 2020
In the name of homelessness prevention, Greencastle Walmart Front End Coach Holly Hayden (right) presents $2,000 to Beyond Homeless Inc. Director Lea Durbin recently. At the urging of Walmart Human Resources Manager Kelly Nees-Perkins (not pictured), Durbin applied for a Walmart Community Foundation Grant for the shelter’s Homeless Prevention Program. Besides providing shelter for women and children at its East Franklin Street location in Greencastle, Beyond Homeless also provides resources to men and women who may be on the brink of homelessness. The Homeless Prevention Program is aimed at providing such resources before shelter or other assistance is necessary.
