The Putnam County Health Department confirmed Tuesday afternoon that both Cloverdale and North Putnam schools have had positive cases.
There have been two positive tests at Cloverdale and one at North Putnam.
Cloverdale Supt. Greg Linton confirmed this with a statement posted on the school website Monday.
“As we enter our second full week of school, CCSC has identified a small number of students who have tested positive for COVID-19,” Linton wrote. “School administration has worked closely with the Putnam County Health Department to quickly contact all individuals who have been in contact with those who have tested positive.”
North Putnam has not publicly made such a statement.
Linton further encouraged students, staff and community members to practice habits to help slow the spread of the disease.
“It is important to continue to wear the appropriate PPE, wash your hands regularly, social distance and stay home if you are not feeling well,” Linton wrote. “Information will continue to be provided as it becomes available.”
As of Monday, Putnam County had seen a modest increase of 13 cases since the last Banner Graphic report on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the county saw a sharper increase, with 21 new cases in the Indiana State Department of Health daily report.
