The annual Reality Store for local eighth-grade students has been canceled.

Presented by the Greencastle Kiwanis Club, with help from a number of other local organizations, the annual event becomes the latest in a long line of cancellations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each year, students from Cloverdale, Greencastle, North Putnam and South Putnam, as well as Eminence, converge on the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building to learn lessons in the kind of financial welfare they can expect based upon their career and other life choices.

The event has traditionally taken place on Columbus Day.
