INDIANAPOLIS -- Two Indianapolis children, who took off with their mother’s car Thursday afternoon and were reportedly headed to a grandparent’s home in Cloverdale, were reported safe Thursday evening.

Indianapolis police said an 11-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother left the 2500 block of South Harlan Street in Indianapolis and were supposedly bound for Logan Street in Cloverdale.

However, sometime before 5:15 p.m. police say the missing children were found safe at an Indianapolis Wendy’s after a customer spotted the children and their dog in the drive-through and called police.

Authorities said the girl had used her mother’s credit card earlier to fill the SUV up with gasoline.

  • It was a good thing someone saw the girl driving and called the police. That 11-yr old is gutsy for her age and paid attention when an adult was driving and copied it.
