The timbered property south of Glenn Flint Lake will now be closed to public access from Sept. 1 to March 1 of each year.

This includes the OWL Trail educational area and park property owned by the Little Walnut Creek Conservancy District around Glenn Flint Lake.

This closure is to protect the public, since the property is now leased for seasonal hunting.

Waterfowl hunting at the lake will require an annual pass and participation in the draw for blinds in early November. More information about this opportunity is available on the Little Walnut Creek Conservancy District’s website at www.littlewalnutdistrict.in.gov.

Public access to the lake from the boat ramp for fishing and recreation remains open.

  • Years ago I lived at Van Bibber having a lake front home. (1979) At that time Glen Flint was a public lake with the boat ramp being the end of the County Rd. Recently I was wanting to take my granddaughter fishing [ from the bank, no boat], I found at least that { east} side of the Flint Lake was fenced off and I would have to pay a fee to fish. When did all this take place, and is Glen Flint now privately owned?

  • Little walnut conservancy put up the pay gate and increased the fees about 3 years ago.
