Norma S. Albin

Norma S. Albin, 86, of Greencastle, passed away Sept. 9, 2020, peacefully at home after a bout with cancer.

Norma was born in Putnamville on Sept. 24, 1933, the daughter of George and Effie Sims.

Norma worked at and owned, Albin’s Paint & Body Shop and Albin’s Pools & Spas with her husband Tom. She was an elder at Sherwood Christian Church.

She also worked at DePauw University for 28 years, the last 13 as the administrative assistant to the Dean of the School of Music. She dearly loved the position and the people she worked with.

She faced life with all its joys and tribulations with dignity, humor, courage, love and compassion. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by four adult children, Dee Albin, Thom Albin (Denice), Alli Nagel (Randy) and Dave Albin (Lee); a sister, Betty Foxx; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, J. Thomas Albin, he was the love of her life; a grandchild, Matthew Shepard; and seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

An Irish wake will be held in Norma’s honor at her home, immediately following the service until whenever.
