DAR: Know your Constitution
To the Editor:
Each year, the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrate the Constitution of our great country.
More than 200 years ago, American colonists sacrificed thier lives and fortunes to establish the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States of America.
The far-sighted citizens provided a republic which established laws to protect the rights of all citizens. Today, we watch as people throughout the world battle for the rights many of us take for granted.
The week of Sept. 17-23 is Constitution Week. Take time to appreciate the much-coveted rights.
