County Jail

Eleven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 4:07 a.m. Joseph R. Tiedemann, 37, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for battery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

• At 2:51 a.m., Larry E. Roberts, 51, Greencastle, was taken into custody for driving with a BAC of .08 or more and for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 11:38 p.m. Adam M. Vibbart, 21, Spencer, was housed at the jail for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of hash oil and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

• At 2 p.m. Cody A. Ison-Ladigo, 24, Martinsville, was booked in for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 10:24 p.m. Joshua K. Moore, 32, Poland, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 4:59 p.m. Amy L. Fultz, 48, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a warrant.

• At 4:23 p.m. Richard C. Waggoner, 36, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

• At 1:42 p.m. Marie E. Beaman, 55, Greencastle, was booked in for probation violation.

• At 1:27 p.m. Carly R. Frazier, 44, Crawfordsville, was lodged at the jail for reckless driving.

• At 1:26 a.m. Bradley W. Allen, 37, Greencastle, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

• At 12:47 a.m. Levi R. Abney, 26, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 3:45 a.m. Monday, Candice Lumpkin, 38, Reelsville, was arrested by Officer Alec Pettit.

Taken into custody on Bloomington Street, Lumpkin was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a Putnam County warrant for failure to appear.

Two recent minor accidents were investigated by city officers.

• At 10:35 a.m. Friday, a two-vehicle mishap was reported on North Jackson Street near Earp Street.

Timothy Toland, 29, Coatesville, was northbound in a 2016 Jeep Patriot when he collided with a northbound 2019 Kia Sorrento, driven by Judy Clark, 62, Reelsville.

Toland told Officer Brad Hiatt that he was attempting to turn right into the Animal Medical Clinic when Clark tried to pass on the right.

Clark said Toland employed his left turn signal and she was trying to go around him on the right to avoid his left turn.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, a two-vehicle accident was reported at North Jackson and West Washington streets.

Brian Hughes, 34, Ladoga, was sitting at the stoplight in a 2020 Mack truck when a semi coming around the corner of the square, forcing him to back up to avoid being hit. However, behind him at the stoplight was a 2020 Toyota Camry, driven by Sidney Conn, 20, Winchester.

Hughes backed the truck in the Conn car, resulting in an estimated $1,000-$2,500 damage, according to Capt. Chris Jones’ report.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7:02 a.m. on Thursday, Aaron M. Lucas, 21, Rush, Ky., was westbound on U.S. 36 just east of U.S. 231 in a 2012 Ford Econoline.

Lucas told Deputy Josh Deal he fell asleep and the truck left the road. The vehicle was off the road for several feet, hitting a mailbox, before Lucas returned to the road, overcorrected and caused the truck to cross the highway, where it hit a ditch and the truck rolled once. It came to rest on a fence, 20 feet from the road on private property.

Lucas was seen by EMS and released. The truck was heavily damaged and towed.

Deal estimated damage at $25,000-$50,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six recent dispatches:

• At 11:46 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to CVS for a smoke scare. Firefighters arrived at 11:48 and investigated the building, but did not find a cause for the hot smell. GFD went back into service at 12:26 p.m.

• At 7:36 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire at Smoker Friendly Discount Tobacco. Firefighters arrived at 7:38 and were advised that a small fire had started in a vent, but that a customer used a fire extinguisher to put it out. GFD went back into service at 8:38 p.m.

• At 5:31 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Lucy Rowland Hall for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:32 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:39 p.m.

• At 1:41 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Opportunity Housing for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:47 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:59 p.m.

• At 4:26 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire located at 152 Brown Ave. in Cloverdale. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 4:38, but the fire was already extinguished. GFD went back into service at 5:11 p.m.

• At 5:25 a.m. on Monday, GFD was called to 2775 S. CR 150 West to assist with finding a missing 14-year-old with autism. Units arrived at 5:58 and the juvenile was located at a relative’s home. GFD went back into service at 6:19 a.m.

GFD also recently performed six medical assists and had one disregard.
