DePauw to sponsor virtual programs for youth
Each year, the DePauw University Hartman Center for Community Engagement sponsors a pair of on-campus programs for local youth.
This year, Sports Night and jumpstART will take place virtually, and a new one has been added, Quests in Quarantine.
“This is a great opportunity for our local students to access enrichment without putting themselves at risk and is also a great way to connect DePauw and our community,” Chelsea Naylor, coordinator of community-based learning, said.
An enriching and engaging art education program open to artists in kindergarten through fifth grade, jumpstART will take place Saturdays from 11 a.m.-noon. It will take place on Zoom on Sept. 26, Oct. 31 and Nov. 21.
Anyone with questions may reach out to jumpstart@depauw.edu.
Sports Night is also open to kindergarten through fifth-grade students on Sundays from 2-3 p.m. It will take place on Sept. 27, Oct. 11 and Nov. 15.
For more information, email sportsnight@depauw.edu.
Finally, Quests in Quarantine will give students the chance to explore other cultures — Spain on Sept. 30, South Korea on Oct. 14 and Argentina on Nov. 4.
On each of these Wednesdays, the sessions will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
