Greencastle Civic League looks to future with endowment

Monday, September 28, 2020

During the last 36 years, the Greencastle Civic League has accomplished quite a bit in the community.

It has raised funds for the Bob York Splash Park, the Emerald Palace playground and the new bandshell at Robe Ann Park. Members have planted trees, picked up trash, served pancakes on the Fourth of July and just finished up the 27th season of Parkfest.

To ensure the Civic League can continue to make a positive impact on the city for years and decades to come, the members have established an endowment at the Putnam County Community Foundation to support their own future projects and projects of other like-minded organizations.

The Greencastle Civic League is nearing the deadline to meet the goal of $12,000 and is now asking the community members to donate and help reach that goal.

“The Greencastle Civic League wouldn’t be what it is today without the support of Greencastle, and for that we are incredibly thankful,” President Megan Linneweber said. “By contributing to this endowment, you can ensure that this group will continue its work beautifying the city for generations to come.”

Donations mad be made online at http://greencastlecivicleague.org/donate or by mail at Greencastle Civic League, PO Box 367, Greencastle, IN 46135.
