Robert J. Lawson

Robert J. Lawson, 68, Greencastle, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020 in his residence.

He was retired from Heartland Automotive.

He was born April 19, 1952 in Brazil to Robert Leonard and Jane (Pierce) Lawson.

Robert is survived by his wife Laura (Billings) Lawson, whom he married Jan. 5, 1990; his father Robert L. Lawson (Fran); daughter Melissa Lawson Buis; sister Kristina William (Michael); brother David Lawson (Theresa); sister-in-law Cathy Capp; brothers-in-law David Billings and Fred Billings; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother-in-law, Tommy Billings.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing.

His passion in life was music and he was an accomplished guitar player and had played in many bands since he was a teen. His current band was Lost in Time.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 1-3 p.m. in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN with military honors at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
