City Police

One accident was investigated Friday by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 1:56 p.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred at U.S. 231 and State Road 240 as Elizabeth Bricker, 59, Bainbridge, was northbound on U.S. 231, driving a 2020 GMC Terrain. She told Officer Nick Eastham that as she was entering the intersection she didn’t realize the traffic signal had turned red.

In the process of turning left at the time was Adam Cohen, 59, Greencastle, driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue.

The collision sent Cohen to Putnam County Hospital via EMS, suffering from head and neck injuries. Bricker and a passenger, meanwhile, declined medical treatment.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $10,000-$25,000.

Officer Eastham was assisted at the scene by Capt. Chris Jones and Officer Brad Hiatt.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 8:26 a.m. on Friday, Courtney J. Query, 32, Coatesville, was westbound on Heritage Drive, approaching Emergency Exit 62 in a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox when she hit a deer.

Deputy Brian Helmer estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Hope S. Lipscomb, 33, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 350 North approaching County Road 200 West in a 2006 Ford F-150 when she left the north side of the road and hit a guardrail.

The collision caused the vehicle to go back across the road and sideswipe a 2000 Dodge Ram being driven eastbound by Richard H. Corbett, 35, Greencastle. The impact forced Corbett into a ditch on the south side of the road.

Corbett was also towing a dolly with a 2015 GMC Terrain attached to it. This vehicle was struck as well.

Lipscomb told Deputy Helmer she was fatigued from work and may have dozed off but she wasn’t sure. She was complaining of pain and was transported to the hospital for treatment by Putnam County EMS.

Corbett was checked out by Putnam County EMS.

Only the GMC Terrain was towed from the scene.

Helmer estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.
