CLOVERDALE -- First responders in Cloverdale made quick work with a fire involving a shed Friday morning.

At approximately 8:40 a.m., the Cloverdale Volunteer Fire Department and the Cloverdale Police Department were dispatched to Beagle Club Road -- just east of the Days Inn -- where a vacant shed was engulfed.

Cloverdale police stated in a Facebook post that the property owner was trying to demolish the shed, but that the fire grew out of control.

The fire was extinguished not long after firefighters arrived. Cloverdale personnel went back into service at approximately 10 a.m.

Putnam County EMS also assisted at the scene. The Greencastle Fire Department also responded to the incident on a box alarm, but were disregarded.

No injuries have been reported.

  • I'm sure Cheryl is livid; it's the second time it's caught fire. Hope State Farm is there for her.
