County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

• At 12:31 p.m. Joshua F. Welty, 32, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for possession of marijuana.

• At 1:50 a.m. Jack D. Barnett, 41, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for false informing.

Monday

• At 3:37 p.m. John B. Inman Jr., 25, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and resisting law enforcement.

• At 10:03 a.m. Jonathan D. Eversole, 30, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrant for resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, Janetta C. Wolfe, 53, Cloverdale, was eastbound on State Road 42 in a 2019 Nissan Rogue when she hit a deer.

Deputy Daniel Birt estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, Ashley D. Crabb, 36, Brazil, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze when she hit a deer.

Deputy Birt estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000. The car was towed.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 3:11 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Heartland Automotive for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:16 and determined this was a false alarm. The alarm was not activated on arrival. GFD went back into service at 3:19 p.m.

• At 4:22 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to the Putnam County Regional Airport for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:27 and determined this was a false alarm. GFD went back into service at 4:38 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed two medical assists and had one disregard.

Individuals listed in the blotter have been arrested on probable cause and have not been formally charged. Charging information may change after an initial arrest.
