Rex R. Winings

Rex R. Winings, 74, of Cloverdale, passed away Jan. 22, 2021.

He was born May 12, 1946 in Indianapolis to the late Sterling and Marian (Dunn) Winings.

He married Ruth (Black) Winings on June 25, 1965 and she survives.

He was a self-made mechanic and over his years he worked for Kenworth, Cambell’s 66 Express, Indy West 76 Truck Plaza, McCullough’s Garage and was the co-owner of Island Sun Tan Center. He retired from Conway Central Express as a diesel technician in 2013.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Scott Winings and wife Jan, Lori Winings and Matt Winings and husband Stephen; grandchildren Jesseca (Reed) Bradbury, Andrea (Khalil) Harrison, Julie (Jacob) Collenbaugh, Brian (Courtney) Winings and Noah Winings; great-grandchildren Lyra, Hazel, Maeve and Rex; and his siblings, Anna (Michael) Godsey and Tom Winings.

He was also preceded in his death by his brothers, Sterling R. Winings Jr. and Arthur E. Winings.

A celebration of life for Rex will be at a later date.
