Additional anti-racism program to begin Feb. 14

Tuesday, January 26, 2021

The Greencastle League of Women Voters, in partnership with Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Ivy Tech Greencastle and the Greencastle NAACP, is offering another session of its “Become a Better Ally: Daily Habits of an Anti-Racist” program.

This session will run for four weeks from Feb. 14 through March 14. It will begin with a one-hour orientation and participants will be expected to commit to spending 15 minutes a day working through a list of resources to listen to, read and watch.

Additionally, participants will be paired each week to talk to about the resources. There will also be a weekly opportunity to talk in a larger group setting.

“Being committed to anti-racism work as an ally is about building new habits, continual education, sustained action and becoming more fluent in talking to others about racism,” the LWV stated. “The hope for this program is that it will create a habit of spending time each day doing anti-racism work and assist participants in becoming more comfortable talking to others about racial issues.”
