Francel I. Strain

Francel Irene Strain, 68, peacefully crossed over from this life on Friday Jan. 29, 2021 at IU West.

She was born Aug. 20, 1952 in Lafayette to Carl E. and Mary Frances (Doty) Strain.

She was a 1970 graduate of Greencastle High School and attended IU in Bloomington Indiana.

She was an artist and a loving free spirit.

Although she had no children of her own, she loved and adored her many nieces and nephews as well as her great nieces and nephews. She bonded deeply with those lucky enough to be close by.

Her greatest gift was her ability to genuinely love unconditionally everyone she met.

If you ever met Francel, you probably have a little trinket or more often a small figurine that she gave you. She loved to find and buy them to share and spread joy to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother Carl “C” Strain Jr.

She is survived by her father, Carl E. Strain (Verdeen); her sisters, Susan (Strain) Glaser (Alan), Melody Strain Taylor, Kathy Strain, Brenda (Strain) Stone (David) and Liz St. Rain (Michael); and brothers Justice “Jay” Strain (Karen) and Judson Strain (Kelly); nieces and nephews Anne, Christi, Jacob, Heather, Brandon, David, James, Jana, Michelle, Noah, Nathan, Lauren, Sidra, Sam, Demetra and Sterling; as well as many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest in Coatesville Indiana with close family in attendance.
