County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 2:44 a.m. Jessica M. Faulkner, 32, Brownsburg, was lodged at the jail for theft and on a writ of body attachment.

Saturday

• At 11:01 p.m. Andrew L. Prouse, 23, Marshall, Ill., was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 6:46 p.m. Graham R. Schoen, 30, Roachdale, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

• At 7:44 a.m. Jacob W. Harvey, 41, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 2:55 a.m. Andrew G. Bolen, 23, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.

Friday

• At 3:18 p.m. Kyal A. Campbell, 29, Poland, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 2:28 p.m. Elijah W. Hoke, 26, Terre Haute, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 9:52 a.m. Kallen M. Walker, 24, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for petition to revoke probation.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Dallas Z. Scales, 39, Greencastle, was arrested on Manhattan Road by Officer Eric Vaughan.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Scales was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Two citations were issued recently by city officers.

• At 4:17 p.m. Friday, Lisa Stehle, 50, Brazil, was ticketed on Wood Street by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stehle was cited for having an expired plate (October 2018) and for operating without financial responsibility.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, Samuel A. Whitaker, 18, Roachdale, was westbound on County Road 300 South in a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze when he hit a deer.

Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 5:20 p.m. on Friday, Tyler L. Patton, 16, Cloverdale, was traveling on County Road 190 West in a 2008 Dodge Avenger.

Patton told Deputy Robert Soilleux the road was slippery and he had gotten too close to the side of the road and snow bank, resulting in the car being sucked into the ditch. The car damaged a small section of cattle fencing.

Patton further told Soilleux he had been talking on his cellphone at the time.

The car was towed. The deputy estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 7:18 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 110 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:24 and found a large water leak. GFD shut the water off and Duke Energy disconnected the power. GFD went back into service at 8:30 p.m.

• At 8:27 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to the Gordmans store in Putnam Plaza for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:34 and were notified that the alarm had been malfunctioning. GFD went back into service at 8:44 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed 10 medical assists and had two disregards and one incident not found.
