DePauw sets commencement for May 23; ceremony for 2020 grads to be June 6
DePauw University has announced it is working to finalize details for the Class of 2021 commencement.
Barring unforeseen pandemic-related circumstances, an outdoor ceremony is planned for Sunday, May 23. The final campus location has not yet been determined. Graduates will be able to walk across the stage and have their photographs taken.
DePauw plans to provide more details to seniors and their families via email and updates on its website, including information about ticketing and guests, in mid-March.
Meanwhile, an in-person commencement ceremony for Class of 2020 graduates has been scheduled for Sunday, June 6.
Graduates will be able to walk across the stage and have their photographs taken, and the university is continuing to work with 2020 graduates to make the event special.
As with the 2021 ceremony, barring unforeseen pandemic-related circumstances, an outdoor ceremony (final location still undetermined) is planned. Planning is ongoing and more details will be announced in mid-March, 2021 via direct emails to members of the Class of 2020 and on the DePauw website.
Health and safety protocols will be in place for both ceremonies as per campus, local, state and national recommendations and requirements.
Unfortunately, the ongoing incidence of COVID-19 will not allow hosting of the DePauw Under the Stars or provide on-campus housing (in residence halls or houses) for either event.
