Rotary announces 2021 speech contest winners

The Greencastle Rotary Club has announced the winners of its annual speech contest, with this year’s event being held virtually.

Ellis, Widner and Linton present a $75 check to second-place winner Dunkin York.

The first-place winner was Greencastle’s Maieasha Rashid, the second-place winner was South Putnam’s Dunkin York and the third-place winner was Cloverdale’s Jessica Geiger. North Putnam’s Jayden Simpson also participated in this year’s contest.

The winners received $125, $75 and $50, respectively.

The club noted that the final placement decisions were made by slim margins.
