Ivy Tech scholarships open for Putnam County residents

Thursday, March 25, 2021

The Ivy Tech Community College scholarship application for the 2021-22 academic year is now open.

More than $300,000 is available to be awarded to students to attend the Ivy Tech Terre Haute campus, including the Greencastle location, in 2021-22. Some scholarships are available specifically for Putnam County residents.

There are a variety of ways to qualify for Ivy Tech scholarships. Students can be awarded scholarships based on many attributes, including program of study, minority student status, county of residence and others.

Scholarships available exclusively for Putnam County residents include the Putnam Promise program, the Putnam County Hospital Scholarship, the Dave and Sue Murray ASAP Scholarship, Graffis Medical Career Scholarship, First National Bank Health Scholarship, North Salem State Bank Scholarship, Ballard-Sturgeon Nursing Scholarship and Eitel’s Family Scholarship.

The Putnam Promise program is a partnership between Ivy Tech Community College Greencastle location, the Putnam County Community Foundation and generous community members that offers 2020 or 2021 graduates from a Putnam County high school an affordable start to their education. Students in the program participate in Ivy Tech’s Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) program to potentially earn an associate degree in 11 months.

Many additional scholarships are offered, including some specifically for high school seniors. Others are available to students in specific areas of study.

There is a single application for all Ivy Tech scholarships, and students will be considered for all scholarships for which they meet eligibility requirements. While scholarships and financial aid are awarded on a rolling basis, the priority deadline to file the FAFSA in Indiana is April 15 in order to qualify for the maximum amount of financial aid available.

The deadline to apply for high school senior scholarships is April 1.
