Charlotte Lee Wichmann

Charlotte Lee Wichmann, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Charlotte was born on Aug. 26, 1932, the daughter of Bryan Edgar and Stella Gay (Priest) Brackney.

She was a 1950 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

She married Paul Henry Wichmann on July 14, 1950.

Mrs. Wichmann was a member of Brick Chapel United Methodist Church.

She worked as the assistant head of housekeeping for DePauw University for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include her two daughters, Paula L. Meluch (special friend Bart Ng) of Avon and Rhonda Mace (John) of Fillmore; five grandchildren, Jayson Paul Mace and Sheridan and Bryan Meluch of Lafayette, Jonna Lynn Mace (special friend Brandon Murphy) of Greencastle and George Richard Meluch of Avon; and four great-grandchildren, Madyson Mace, Emily Meluch, Jayln Mace and Holly Meluch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, John Joe Brackney and Jack Brackney; and a sister, Gaylene Goode.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Schneider officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Burial will take place at a later date in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
