On April 24, 2021, Cherryl Rose Crawford, age 72, peacefully entered into eternal life with our Savior Jesus Christ.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grammy.

She was born on March 23, 1949 in Holden, W. Va., to Lewis J. McCane and Lila Jo Keel McCane.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sandi and Mona.

In October 1964, God joined Cherryl with the love of her life, William (Bill) Crawford, and he survives.

She is also survived by her older brother Lewis McCane Jr. and her younger sister Rhonda Tharp; her two daughters; Angie Burgess (Troy) and Joyce Esguerra (Tony), four granddaughters, Amber Thompson, Aubrey Nichols, Ally Nichols and Amanda Esguerra; and four great-grandchildren; Avah, Anah, Ariah and Azro. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cherryl lived the majority of her life in Indiana, graduated from Arlington High School and retired from Putnamville Correctional Facility.

Cherryl had a deep respect and passion for life. She was a cancer warrior for many years, but that does not define who she was. She was a beautiful person with a big heart and a gifted gardener who loved and enjoyed her flowers each year. Many of her happiest moments in life were spent with her girls and especially taking care of her grandchildren.

The family will be having a private graveside service and celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, please keep her alive in your heart. She was the best part in all of us. She was loved by many people and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
