COATESVILLE -- Just after 3 p.m. Thursday, Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash in the 4100 block of South State Road 75, just north of Coatesville.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on SR 75, when for an unknown reason, the car drove left of center and was struck by a northbound tri-axle dump truck.

The driver of the Corolla, a female, died at the scene and an infant passenger was taken to an Indianapolis hospital by medical helicopter.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured as a result of the crash.

No names were released Thursday evening, pending notification of family members.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Indiana State Police are assisting in the investigation.

  • Ive driven triaxles dump and cement and semi trucks all my life. This kind of accedent has always haunted me because i lost count of how many 4 wheelers all of a sudden they just come right at you. Luckly though we both seemed to realise the difflugety just in time to divert.
